Purpose: The Wic Program provides nutritious food, nutrition counseling and referrals for pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women, infants and young children. Eligibility: The program is available to low to moderate income pregnant and breastfeeding women, infants up to one year, and children up to their fifth birthday. Gross family income must be at or below 185% of poverty. Nutritional need for the program is determined by a simple nutritional assessment,. Persons with any type of disability are served if they meet the eligibility requirements. Wic has proven effective in preventing and improving nutrition-related health problems within its target population. Services provided:
